"There is a phase in labor, appropriately called transition, where a
woman will meet her breaking point. She'll feel as though she just
can't go on, and she is right. The maiden in her is not strong enough
for the task at hand. It's during this time the maiden dies so that
the woman can be reborn as a mother, with her child. A new, more
capable version of herself with far more strength than she has ever
known. From Maiden to Mother."

I became a doula after the birth of my first child. I myself had a
traumatic experience and I wanted to make sure no client of mine felt
unsupported like I did. After becoming a doula, I was able to have an
unmedicated hospital VBAC of my dreams. I was able to give myself that
healing and empowering experience that I believe every birthing person
deserves. No matter how or where they decide to birth.

My goal as a birth doula is to support you in birth however is best
for you and your partner. I love to create a strong relationship with
my clients in pregnancy so going into your birth feels comfortable and
safe.  When I am not doing birthwork as a doula, I am spending my time
as a birth and newborn photographer.  You can ensure that I will
capture as many photos as I can with your phone, so you can have
cherished memories of that special day!
