Kieona Wilford

I am committed to service in my community and to my clients. I became a doula to give voice to the voiceless, and make sure birthing women feel heard and understood during a vulnerable time. I’ve been there. As a Woman of Color, I know what it’s like to struggle with a system that wasn’t built with equity for all. I am able to bring my lived experiences into providing comfort, compassion, and tenderness to the pain and disparities that many People of Color experience in their birthing process. The births of my two children opened the door to the power a doula can hold in the process of becoming a parent – and I bring the strengths of these experiences to my work as a birth doula and postpartum doula.

I have been drawn to a life of caring since I was a young child watching over my younger brother. My time as a certified nursing assistant, and my work as a certified medical assistant in doctor’s office settings gives me a leg up as an advocate in the healthcare system. My own journey has drawn me to train as a massage therapist and to practice the arts of crystal and energy healing. I see birth as a spiritual transformation and can support clients through their own journeys.

I also enjoy being outdoors with my family spending quality time, agate picking and fishing all year around!

I completed my training through a DONA International doula course. Whether working with a birthing parent as they bring their first – or fifth – child into the world, I will be there providing comfort, service and expertise, every step of the way.
